Seattle SuperSonics Team Report – March 10

=== Seattle SuperSonics Team Report – March 10 ===

(Sports Network) – The Seattle SuperSonics saw their losing streak hit a
season-high five games on Tuesday with a 105-92 loss to the Minnesota
Timberwolves at KeyArena.

Ray Allen posted 37 points on 13-of-24 shooting from the field for the
SuperSonics, who have lost eight of their last nine games. Vitaly Potapenko
chipped in 14 points and Rashard Lewis added 13 for Seattle, which is 10 games
under .500 for the first time since 1986.

Before the game, the Sonics activated Brent Barry and placed Richie Frahm on
the injured list with right knee tendinitis. Barry, who had been sidelined
since January 27, scored three points in 24 minutes.

Seattle’s recent slide has dropped it 6 1/2 games back of the Denver Nuggets
for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Sonics will retire former point guard Gus Williams’ No. 1 jersey during
halftime of their March 26 game against Denver. Members of the Sonics 1979 NBA
championship team will be on hand.

Williams will become the fifth Sonic to have his jersey retired, joining
McMillan (No. 10), Lenny Wilkens (19), Fred Brown (32), and Jack Sikma (43).

Seattle will return to action on Friday when they start a five-game road trip
in Miami.
