MVP Duncan returns from injured list for Spurs
San Antonio, TX (Sports Network) – The San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan
returned from the injured list to score nine points in 15 minutes Wednesday in
a 108-90 win over the Los Angles Clippers.
The league’s reigning MVP, missed six games with an irritation of the
patellofemoral joint just above his left knee. The Spurs were 4-2 without him.
Duncan was eligible to return on Tuesday, but sat out San Antonio’s 94-88 road
loss to the Memphis Grizzlies
In 54 games this season prior to Wednesday, Duncan averaged 23.2 points and
13.0 rebounds per contest, both team-highs.
To make room for Duncan on the active roster, the Spurs placed guard Matt
Carroll on the injured list with left patella tendinitis.
