(Sports Network) – Damon Stoudamire matched a season high with 28 points to
lead Portland to a 92-79 win over Minnesota on Wednesday at the Rose Garden.

Zach Randolph finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Trail Blazers,
who overcame an early nine-point deficit and won for the second time in seven
games. Derek Anderson contributed 13 points and seven assists.

Stoudemire, who drew attention earlier this week for submitting to a drug test
with a newspaper columnist, was 11-of-19 from the floor and added seven
assists in the win.

The NBA Players Association has said the team violated the collective
bargaining agreement when coach Maurice Cheeks witnessed the test late last
week.

The union did not say whether it would take further action. Stoudamire, who
has been arrested three times on marijuana charges but has voluntarily gone
through treatment, passed the test.

With the win Portland moved within two games of the final playoff spot in the
Western Conference, currently occupied by the upstart Denver Nuggets.

The Trail Blazers, who will wrap up their two-game homestand on Friday against
Sacramento, have won four of six and six of their last 10 at home and are
20-12 in their building this season.

Portland has taken two of three from the Kings this season and could have the
advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won nine of the last 13
matchups. The Blazers have also won four of six and 13 of their last 16 at
home against the Kings.
