=== Los Angeles Lakers Team Report – March 13 ===
(Sports Network) – The Los Angels Lakers play the finale of their four-game
road trip tonight, as they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center.
This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams. The
Lakers defeated the Bulls, 101-94, on November 21, 2003 at the Staples Center.
The Lakers are 18-18 on the road this season.
LA has won two of the last three meetings between the two teams.
The Lakers have lost two straight after winning their last two at Chicago. The
Lakers have lost five of their last seven as the visitor against the Bulls.
The Lakers are in fourth place in the Western Conference, just one game ahead
of the Memphis Grizzlies and 1 1/2 games in front of the Dallas Mavericks.
LA is 1-2 on its current road swing. On Friday, the Lakers were beat by the
Minnesota Timberwolves, 96-86, at the Target Center. Los Angeles had its
starting lineup back in tact for the first time since December 21, but it
still was not enough to get a win on Minnesota’s homecourt. After missing 29
games with a knee injury, Karl Malone returned to net 13 points in 21 minutes.
Shaquille O’Neal topped all scorers with 24 points and pulled down 13 rebounds
for the Lakers, losers in two of their last three contests. Kobe Bryant also
recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.
