(Sports Network) – Troy Hudson was a major catalyst off the bench, scoring 19
points to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves to a 96-86 win over the Los Angeles
Lakers at the Target Center.

Kevin Garnett led the way with 20 points and 13 rebounds as the Timberwolves
won for just the second time in five games. Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell
chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively, as Minnesota beat the Lakers for
the third straight time

The Timberwolves have won five of the last seven against the Lakers and five-
of-six at home in the series.

Garnett has scored 20 or more points in eight straight games. He has averaged
25 points in that span.

Minnesota is off until Sunday when it hosts the Portland Trail Blazers. It
will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. The
Timberwolves are 1-2 against the Blazers.
