Mark Cuban fined $10,000

New York, NY (Sports Network) – Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was fined
$10,000 by the NBA on Wednesday for inappropriate comments following a March 5
contest against San Antonio.

After the Spurs earned a 113-100 win over Dallas at the SBC Center, Cuban said
in a published report that he asked one his players to slap the ball into
Spurs forward Bruce Bowen’s face and he would pay the fine.

During the game, Mavericks forward Michael Finley was ejected for elbowing
Bowen. However, replays showed both players exchanging elbows. Bowen then said
after the game the two just bumped each other.
