(Sports Network) – The Heat registered a 101-81 win over the Washington
Wizards at the MCI Center.

Dwyane Wade led six players in double-digit scoring with 22 points, as the
Heat topped the Wizards. Lamar Odom netted 18 points and Eddie Jones added 16
for the Heat, who have won a season-high five straight games. Rafer Alston and
Udonis Haslem each had 12 points in the win.

Caron Butler collected 10 points and nine rebounds for Miami, which has been
hot of late, winning eight of its last nine contests.

Miami improved to 15-7 with Wade, Jones, Odom, Brian Grant and Butler in the
starting lineup.

Leading 49-40 at the break, the Heat used the third quarter to seal the game.
Miami opened the second half with an 11-4 spurt, extending its lead to 16.
Jones’ long trey capped the run, staking the Heat to a 60-44 advantage with
four minutes gone by in the third. The game didn’t get much closer the rest of
the way.

Miami owns sixth place alone in the East, a game ahead of New York and just 1
1/2 contests behind fifth place Milwaukee. The Heat must continue their solid
play though, as ninth place is just 2 1/2 games behind them.

The Heat have a couple of days off before facing the Orlando Magic at TD
Waterhouse Centre Wednesday night. Miami owns a 9-25 record in foreign
buildings this season.
