(Sports Network) – The Hornets dropped a 121-120 overtime decision to the
Toronto Raptors at the New Orleans Arena on Sunday evening.

Baron Davis paced New Orleans with 29 points, but turned the ball over six
times. Jamaal Magloire contributed 23 points and 18 boards for the Hornets,
who have lost two in a row. Magloire, who recorded his 34th double-double of
the season, was 15-of-20 from the foul line.

P.J. Brown and Stacey Augmon tallied 12 points apiece, while Robert Traylor
tacked on 11 points and 10 rebounds. George Lynch rounded out the double digit
scorers for the Hornets with 10 points.

In the overtime, New Orleans led by three points on several occasions, the
last time at 116-113 on Davis’ bank shot with 1:50 left. Chris Bosh then
converted a slam dunk and Vince Carter added a free throw to knot the contest
at 116-116 with 45 seconds remaining.

After Magloire made 1-of-2 tries from the foul line to put the Hornets in
front, Carter nailed a three-pointer with 18 seconds left to give Toronto a
119-117 advantage.

Magloire was then blocked by Bosh on a drive to the hoop and the ball ended up
on the floor. After a scramble, a jump ball was called with 7.6 seconds
remaining. Bosh controlled the tap to Carter, who was fouled with 5.8 seconds
to go.

Carter proceeded to make both attempts from the stripe to seal it. Steve Smith
hit a three-point shot with less than a second left to account for the final

The Hornets will have a day off before returning to the hardwood against the
Detroit Pistons at the New Orleans Arena. New Orleans, which is closing out a
four-game homestand, is 23-14 at home this season.
