(Sports Network) – The Atlanta Hawks lost to the New York Knicks, 96-84, on
Monday at Madison Square Garden.

Atlanta was led by Stephen Jackson’s 20 points. Chris Crawford added 18 points
for the Hawks, who have lost three straight and 15 of their last 20.

Leading 72-68 late in the third, the Knicks bridged the third and fourth
quarters with a 19-4 run to put the game out of reach. DerMarr Johnson started
the spurt, hitting a buzzer-beating three to end the third, and also completed
it with a basket with 6:03 left to give New York a 91-72 cushion. Johnson had
10 points during the run.

New York later went ahead 95-74 thanks to a Johnson field goal with 4:24 left.
Johnson, who fell two points shy of his season high, also finished with six
rebounds off the bench.

Jackson has scored in double digits in 33 straight games. He has averaged 24.9
points in his last 10 games.

The Hawks are off until Thursday when they host Central Division rival New
Orleans. It will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between the two
teams. Atlanta is 1-2 against the Hornets.
