Jermaine O’Neal hopes to return Sunday
Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Injured Indiana Pacers forward Jermaine
O’Neal will miss at least the next two games, but may be available for
Sunday’s contest against Miami.
“I’m going to be fine,” O’Neal said after a Wednesday shootaround. “[I’m]
shooting for next week, at least.”
An MRI on Tuesday revealed a bone bruise in O’Neal’s left knee. He was injured
during Monday’s win over Chicago when he collided with Bulls forward Ronald
Dupree in the second quarter.
Al Harrington will move into the starting lineup at power forward until O’Neal
The 25-year-old O’Neal is having an MVP-like season for the Eastern
Conference-leading Pacers, averaging 20.3 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.65
blocks over 68 games.
