New Jersey Nets Team Report – March 27

=== New Jersey Nets Team Report – March 27 ===

(Sports Network) – The New Jersey Nets try to get back on the winning track
this evening, as they head to Cleveland to face rookie phenom LeBron James and
his Cavaliers at Gund Arena.

New Jersey comes into tonight’s contest on a sour note after falling to the
Boston Celtics, 102-93, on Friday at the FleetCenter.

Richard Jefferson posted 28 points and seven helpers for the Nets, who
continued to play without guard Jason Kidd (left knee bone bruise) and
forward Kenyon Martin (left knee tendinitis). Kidd is on the injured list
and could miss the rest of the regular season, while it is unknown when
Martin will be back.

The Nets have dropped five of their last seven games, but are still 7 1/2
games ahead of Miami for the Atlantic lead. New Jersey is almost assured the
second slot in the East, as it trails East leader Indiana by 10 1/2 contests.

New Jersey, which will be wrapping up a three-game road trip tonight, has
dropped four of five and five of its last seven on the road and is 18-18 away
from home this season.

The Nets have beaten the Cavs twice already this season, but could be at a
disadvantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won six of the last
seven meetings. New Jersey has also dropped four of its last six in Cleveland.
