Denver Nuggets Team Report – March 27

=== Denver Nuggets Team Report – March 27 ===

(Sports Network) – Two teams battling for the final playoff spot in the
Western Conference hook up tonight, as the Utah Jazz welcome the Denver
Nuggets to the Delta Center.

Denver comes into tonight’s tilt on a losing note after getting hammered,
102-86, by the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday at KeyArena. Carmelo Anthony
netted 21 points for the Nuggets, who fell for the first time in three games
and are now tied with Utah for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Denver, which is trying to become the first team in NBA history to reach the
postseason after winning less than 20 games the previous year, is also just a
half-game in front of the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Nuggets have not reached the playoffs since the 1994-95 season.

On the injury front, Voshon Lenard missed the contest with bruised ribs and
will likely miss tonight’s game as well.

Denver, which will return home for a pair of games after tonight’s contest,
has lost five of six and nine of its last 11 on the road and is 13-24 away
from home this season.

Denver has defeated Utah three times already this season, but has lost nine of
the last 13 matchups. The Nuggets have also struggled in Salt Lake City, where
they have dropped 14 of their last 15 and are just 2-20 in their last 22
visits.
