Suns host Wizards

Phoenix, AZ (Sports Network) – The Washington Wizards play the finale of a
five-game road trip tonight, as they take on the Phoenix Suns at America West
Arena.

This is the second and final meeting of the season between the two clubs. On
January 30th, Washington defeated the Suns, 105-100, at the MCI Center.

With both teams at 49 losses, the Suns would register their first 50-loss
season since 1987-88 if they are defeated, while Washington would record its
first 50-loss season since 2000-01 with a loss.

On Sunday, the Wizards lost to the Sacramento Kings, 100-92, at ARCO Arena.
Gilbert Arenas led the Wizards with 27 points. Larry Hughes and Kwame Brown
had 18 points apiece in the defeat, Washington’s fourth in its last five
contests. Brown also pulled down 15 boards in the loss.

Arenas has averaged 21.4 points in his last 10 games.

The Wizards are a dismal 7-29 on the road this season.

The Suns’ season of misery continued on Saturday with a 105-76 thumping at the
hands of the defending champion San Antonio Spurs at the SBC Center.
Amare Stoudemire posted team-highs with 20 points and nine rebounds for the
Suns, who were looking to win back-to-back games.

Rookie Maciej Lampe added 12 points and six boards in a career-high 29 minutes
in the loss.

Phoenix is 15-21 at home this season.

Washington has won four of five and five of the last seven contests with the
Suns. These two teams have split the last 10 meetings. Washington has lost 13
of its last 14 at Phoenix.
