Toronto Raptors Team Report – April 1
=== Toronto Raptors Team Report – April 1 ===
(Sports Network) – The Raptors’ playoff hopes got dimmer Wednesday night, as
they dropped an 85-78 decision to the Golden State Warriors.
Vince Carter scored 22 points for the Raptors, who have dropped five straight
games. Chris Bosh had 13 points and 10 rebounds and Morris Peterson also
chipped in 13 points for Toronto, which remained 3 1/2 games behind the
Celtics for the final playoff spot in the East.
Donyell Marshall pulled down a game-high 16 boards in the loss.
The Warriors led by six after three quarters, and widened their advantage to
73-63 on a pair of free throws by Jason Richardson with 4:07 remaining.
Toronto then scored four straight to pull within six, but would not get any
closer in the final minutes.
A quick 6-0 run, capped by Adonal Foyle’s basket, stretched the advantage to
79-67 and propelled Golden State to the win.
Toronto has lost 11 of its last 14 home games. For the year, the Raptors are
17-20 at the Air Canada Centre.
The Raptors activated forward Robert Archibald and placed forward Jerome Moiso
on the injured list. Apparently, general manager Glen Grunwald went over head
coach Kevin O’Neill’s head to make the roster change. Grunwald and O’Neill
have been rumored to have major differences in philosophy.
Toronto will continue its stretch run Friday night against the East-leading
Indiana Pacers at Conseco Fieldhouse. The Raptors have three of their next
five games on the road.
