=== New Jersey Nets Team Report – April 1 ===

(Sports Network) – It wasn’t easy, but the Nets managed a 103-99 overtime win
over the lowly Washington Wizards at the MCI Center on Wednesday night.

Richard Jefferson poured in a team-high 28 points and hauled down 14 rebounds,
pacing the Nets to the win. Lucious Harris added 24 points on 7-of-15 shooting
for the Nets, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Kerry Kittles chipped in with 18 points and Rodney Rogers netted 13 in the
triumph.

New Jersey played without All-Star Jason Kidd, who is nursing a bone bruise in
his left knee. Kidd could miss the rest of the regular season and possibly the
first round of the playoffs. Kenyon Martin came back from a knee injury and
played limited minutes in the win, posting four points.

The Nets were unable to distance themselves from the Miami Heat in the
Atlantic Division standings. Miami defeated Atlanta 100-97 on Wednesday night
to remain 6 1/2 games back in second place.

New Jersey swept the season series with the Wizards, 4-0. The Nets have won 14
of the last 21 meetings in the series against Washington.

The Nets hit 46 percent of their shots in the win, while draining just 3-of-15
(.200) from beyond the three-point arc. New Jersey was outscored, 32-24, at
the free throw line.

New Jersey has a day to rest up before facing the New York Knicks at
Continental Airlines Arena Friday night. The Nets are 24-12 at home this
season.
