Indiana Pacers Team Report – April 5

=== Indiana Pacers Team Report – April 5 ===

(Sports Network) – The Indiana Pacers had their modest two-game winning
streak stopped on Sunday, as they were routed, 79-61, at the hands of the
Detroit Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Ron Artest netted 16 points for the Pacers, who have already secured the top
spot in the Eastern Conference, but fell for just the second time in their
last eight tries.

Jermaine O’Neal, who came into the game averaging just over 20 points a
contest, finished with only nine points on 4-of-15 shooting in the loss. It
was only the fifth time this season O’Neal did not score in double figures.

Indiana has dropped four of its last five on the road and slipped to 26-13
away from home this season.

The Pacers return to action on Tuesday when they welcome the playoff-hopeful
New York Knicks to Conseco Fieldhouse. Indiana has won five straight, 10 of 11
and 14 of its last 16 games at home and is 31-7 in its arena this season.

Indiana has defeated the Knicks in two of the three meetings this season and
could hold the advantage tonight, as the home team in this series has won nine
of the last 11 matchups.

The Pacers, who are 11-4 in games played on Tuesday this season, have also won
six straight and 12 of their last 13 at home against New York.
