Houston, TX (Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks Wednesday placed forward
Josh Howard on the injured list with a sore right hamstring.

Howard, who was the final pick of the first round in the 2003 NBA Draft, has
started 29 games this season for Dallas. He is averaging 8.6 points per game,
which is seventh among all NBA rookies, and is tied for fifth among rookies in
rebounding, posting 5.5 a contest.

To take Howard’s spot, the Mavericks activated guard Tony Delk from the
injured list. Delk had missed the past 21 games with a sprained left ankle.
Delk is averaging 6.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game this season.
