Bobby Jackson to miss playoffs

Sacramento, CA (Sports Network) – It seems that Sacramento Kings guard Bobby
Jackson can’t shake a nagging abdominal injury and will miss the remainder of
the playoffs.

According to the Sacramento Bee, Jackson said the injury was serious and he
would rather miss the post-season than a whole year of basketball. The former
Minnesota star has been bothered by the injury since February.

Jackson saw two specialists last week and was advised to rest for about three
months in order for the strain to heal.

The 31-year-old Jackson, the team’s backup point guard, missed 28 of the last
29 games of the regular season. Last season’s NBA Sixth Man of the Year
averaged 13.8 points in 50 games in 2004.

Sacramento defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 116-105, in the opener of their
first-round playoff series on Sunday.
