P.J. Brown captures Sportsmanship Award

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – New Orleans Hornets forward P.J. Brown
earned the 2003-04 NBA Sportsmanship Award on Saturday.

Brown was presented with the award prior to a 77-71 win over Miami in Game 3
of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals at New Orleans arena. The Hornets
trail the best-of-seven set two games to one with Game 4 on Tuesday.

The award honors a player who exemplifies the ideals of sportsmanship on the
court — ethical behavior, fair play and integrity. The trophy is named for
former Detroit Pistons All-Star guard Joe Dumars, the award’s first recipient.

Brown garnered 1,220 points, including 95 first-place votes.
