New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – Baron Davis scored 21 points and David
Wesley added 18, leading the Hornets to a 77-71 win over the Miami Heat in
Game 3 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series at New Orleans Arena.
Jamaal Magloire added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Hornets, who now
trail the best-of-seven set two games to one with Game 4 scheduled for
Tuesday in New Orleans. Caron Butler paced the Heat with a game-high 24
points and 15 boards. Lamar Odom had 18 points and Rafer Alston chipped
in 10 for Miami, which is appearing in the postseason for the first time
since 2001. The Heat also have never lost a playoff series when they won the
first two games.

Final Score: Detroit 95, Milwaukee 85

Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) – Chauncey Billups scored 21 points and Richard
Hamilton added 17 as the Detroit Pistons used a big third-quarter rally to
defeat the Milwaukee Bucks, 95-85, in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference
quarterfinal series at the Bradley Center. Ben Wallace added 13 points, 21
rebounds and three blocked shots for the Pistons, who avenged a home loss
in Game 2 and took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series with a big win on
the road. Tayshaun Prince finished the game with 16 points, eight rebounds
and four blocks while Rasheed Wallace collected 10 points and 11 boards.
Michael Redd and Desmond Mason each scored 19 points to pace the Bucks, who
saw a 12-point lead in the first half evaporate into a 10-point loss. Joe
Smith had 16 points and five blocks and Damon Jones chipped in 14
points and seven assists.

Final Score: Dallas 104, Sacramento 79

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – Marquis Daniels scored 22 points and Dirk
Nowitzki added 21 points and eight rebounds to lead Dallas to a convincing
104-79 win over Sacramento in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal
series at American Airlines Center. Antawn Jamison contributed 20 points
and Michael Finley netted 18 for the fifth-seeded Mavericks, who won their
first game of the best-of-seven series to get within 2-1. Prior to the
game, Jamison was presented a trophy for winning the NBA’s Sixth Man of the
Year Award. Dallas, which has never rallied from an 0-2 deficit to win a
best-of-seven set, will host Game 4 on Monday night. Mike Bibby and Chris
Webber each scored a game-high 22 points for the fourth-seeded Kings, who have
never lost a playoff series after winning the first two games. Sharpshooting
forward Peja Stojakovic had only seven points on 2-of-9 shooting for
Sacramento.

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points and grabbed 10
rebounds as the Denver Nuggets throttled the Minnesota Timberwolves, 107-86,
in Game 3 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series at the Pepsi Center.
Andre Miller had 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the eight-
seeded Nuggets, who will look to even the series at two games apiece when the
two teams meet again in Denver for Game 4 on Tuesday. Marcus Camby added 12
points and 16 rebounds in the win. The Nuggets opened the game with a 25-8
run and never trailed, leading by as many as 23 points in the contest.
It was the first NBA playoff game ever played at the Pepsi Center and the
first postseason game for the Nuggets at home since May 2, 1995, when they
played at McNichols Arena. Latrell Sprewell scored 25 points and Kevin Garnett
collected 24 points and 11 rebounds for the top-seeded Timberwolves, who are
trying to win a first-round series for the first time in franchise history.
