Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Jeff Foster scored 20 points and grabbed
a game-high 16 rebounds to lead Indiana over Miami, 94-83, in Game 5 of their
best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal set at Conseco Fieldhouse. Jermaine
O’Neal netted a game-high 22 points for the Pacers, who took a 3-2 edge in
the series and are now just one victory away of their first trip to the
conference finals since the 1999-2000 campaign. Rookie Dwyane Wade tallied 16
points and 10 assists for the Heat, who are 0-5 as the visitor in this year’s
playoffs and have lost nine in a row on the road in the postseason. Game 6 is
scheduled for Tuesday at AmericanAirlines Arena, where the Heat have won 18
straight games in their building dating back to the regular season.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Kobe Bryant posted 26 points, seven
rebounds and seven assists to lead Los Angeles over San Antonio, 88-76, as the
Lakers eliminated the defending champions in Game 6 of their Western
Conference semifinal set at the Staples Center. Shaquille O’Neal added 17
points and 19 rebounds for the Lakers, who won four straight games to become
just the eighth team in NBA history to come back from an 0-2 deficit and
win a best-of-seven series. Los Angeles, which also received 15 points
from Gary Payton, is headed to its fourth conference finals trip in five
years Tim Duncan tallied 20 points and 11 boards for the Spurs, who
defeated the Lakers last year in the second round to advance to the conference
finals. Manu Ginobili contributed 16 points off the bench, but it wasn’t
enough as the Spurs lost four straight games for only the second time all
season.
