Cassell’s surgery a success
Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) – Minnesota Timberwolves guard Sam
Cassell had successful arthroscopic surgery on his ailing left hip Tuesday in
Cassell missed the final two games of the recent Western Conference finals, in
which the Timberwolves were defeated by a 4-2 margin to the Los Angeles Lakes.
The 34-year-old also left Game 2 of the series after just 43 seconds.
Cassell earned second team All-NBA honors this season after averaging a
career-high 19.8 points per game and ranking fifth in the league with 7.3
assists per contest. The 11-year veteran was also selected to his first All-
Star Game in 2003-04.
