Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks agreed to a six-year
contract worth about $38 million with guard Marquis Daniels.

Daniels spent time last season as the backup to Steve Nash, before moving into
the starting backcourt along side Nash in March as well as in the playoffs.

The undrafted Auburn product started 15 regular-season games and then made a
name for himself by averaging 15.8 points per contest in the playoffs.

By league rules, Daniels, who made the league minimum of $366,931 last season,
cannot sign the actual contract until July 14.
