Toronto officially signs Alston
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – The Toronto Raptors Wednesday signed free
agent point guard Rafer Alston to a multi-year contract.
According to an earlier report by TSN.ca, the deal is for six years and
could be worth up to $30 million.
The 27-year-old former playground legend played for Miami last season,
averaging 10.2 points and 4.5 assists per contest. Alston hit a three-
pointer in a franchise-record 48 consecutive games for the Heat. He was a
second-round draft choice of Milwaukee in 1998.
Alston, a Fresno State product, inked a 10-day contract with the Raptors in
January of 2003. He then signed for the rest of the season and averaged 7.8
points and 4.1 assists in 47 games.
