Dallas, TX (Sports Network) – The Dallas Mavericks have re-signed guard
Marquis Daniels to a six-year contract worth about $38 million.

Daniels spent time last season as the backup to Steve Nash, before moving into
the starting backcourt along side Nash in March as well as in the playoffs.
The undrafted Auburn product started 15 regular-season games and then made a
name for himself by averaging 15.8 points per contest in the playoffs.

On the season, Daniels appeared in 56 games with 15 starts and averaged 8.5
points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He was named to the NBA’s All-Rookie
Second Team along with teammate Josh Howard. Daniels is expected to join
the Mavericks’ entry in the Reebok Rocky Mountain Revue which begins play
in Salt Lake City this Friday.
