Hornets ink Peterson to offer sheet

New Orleans, LA (Sports Network) – The New Orleans Hornets Friday signed
restricted free agent Morris Peterson to an offer sheet. Per club policy,
terms of the deal were not released.

Peterson has spent the first four years of his NBA career with the Toronto
Raptors, who selected the Michigan State product with the 21st overall pick in
the 2000 draft. The six-foot-seven forward played in all 82 games with Toronto
last season and made 29 starts, averaging 8.3 points and 3.2 rebounds.

The 26-year old Peterson compiled career-high averages of 14.1 points and 4.4
boards while starting 80 times for the Raptors in 2002-03.

Toronto will have 15 days to decide whether to match the offer.
