Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) – The Charlotte Bobcats have signed center
Primoz Brezec to a multi-year contract extension. Financial terms were not
disclosed.

Brezec was selected by the Bobcats in the expansion draft on June 22 after
playing the first three years of his NBA career with the Indiana Pacers. He
has averaged just 1.8 points and 5.5 minutes in 62 career games.

“We were very happy when we had the opportunity to take Primoz in the
expansion selection and we’re delighted to be able to keep him on our roster
for the next several years,” said Bobcats head coach Bernie Bickerstaff.
“Primoz played extremely well in the summer league for us, where he
demonstrated his intensity, work ethic and versatility on both ends of the
court. We think he will be an important part of our foundation as we begin
building our team next week.”

Brezec, a 7-foot-1 native of Slovenia, averaged 14.5 points and 6.7 rebounds
in the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league.
