Knicks sign Murray, three others

New York, NY (Sports Network) – The New York Knicks singed veteran forward
Tracy Murray on Monday. The club also inked center Mengke Bateer, guard Andre
Barrett and forward Brent Wright to undisclosed contracts.

Murray is a 12-year NBA veteran, appearing in 659 career games for Portland,
Houston, Toronto, Washington, Denver, and the Los Angeles Lakers. The 6-
foot-7, 230-pounder has career averages of 9.0 points and 2.5 rebounds.

Bateer, 6-11, 300-pounds, is a three-year NBA veteran, appearing in 46 career
games for Denver, San Antonio, Toronto and Orlando with averages of 3.4 points
and 2.5 rebounds. The 30-year-old Inner Mongolia-native had played
professionally in China for seven seasons and has been a member of the Chinese
National Team since age 18.

Barrett, a Bronx, NY native, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a four-
year collegiate career at Seton Hall. The 5-foot-10, 173-pounder averaged 15.3
points and 5.4 assists and was named All-America honorable mention by the
Associated Press as a senior. Barrett played for the Knicks at the 2004 Summer
Pro League in Long Beach, CA, averaging 7.7 points, 3.5 assists and 28.3
minutes in six starts.

Wright, 6-foot-8, 235-pounds, is an NBA rookie who went undrafted after a
four-year collegiate career at Florida. In 112 games for the Gators, the
Miami, FL-native averaged 8.8 points and 5.2 rebounds. Wright also played for
the Knicks in Long Beach and averaged 6.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 18.8
minutes in six games.
