Hawks sign Georgia native Harvey
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) – The Atlanta Hawks agreed to terms Friday
with journeyman forward Donnell Harvey. As per team policy, details of the
contract were undisclosed.
Harvey, a former prep star in the state of Georgia, played in 60 games with
Orlando and Phoenix last season, averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per
contest. The 24-year-old will be playing with his fifth organization in five
years after being selected in the first round of the 2000 draft.
Harvey was taken by the New York Knicks with the 22nd overall pick in 2000, but
was subsequently traded to Dallas. The University of Florida product has also
played with Denver and posted career-best averages of 7.9 points and 5.3
rebounds per game with the Nuggets for the 2002-03 campaign.
