Magic acquire Brandon Hunter from Bobcats

Orlando, FL (Sports Network) – The Orlando Magic acquired forward Brandon
Hunter from the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday in exchange for guard Keith
Bogans. Following the trade, Orlando placed Hunter on the injured list with an
Achilles problem.

Hunter was selected by the Bobcats during the Expansion Draft on June 22,
2004. He played in 36 games for Boston during his rookie campaign in 2003-04
and averaged 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest.

“We obviously have a number of backcourt players and a great deal of
versatility in regard to our swing position players,” said Magic general
manager John Weisbrod. “With this move we are able to add another ‘big’ to our
depth. Brandon (Hunter) is a fierce rebounder, particularly on the offensive
end, and a tough physical player.”

Bogans was selected by Milwaukee in the second round (43rd overall) of the
2003 NBA Draft and then traded to Orlando in exchange for cash considerations.
During his rookie season with the Magic, he averaged 6.8 points and 4.3 boards
over 73 games.

The Bobcats placed Bogans on the injured list along with forwards Jamal
Sampson and Theron Smith.
