=== Los Angeles Clippers Team Report – November 4 ===

(Sports Network) – The Clippers opened their season on a high note Wednesday
evening, posting an impressive 114-84 victory over Seattle at the Staples
Center.

Bobby Simmons poured in a career-high 30 points and Elton Brand had 21, as the
Clippers registered the win. Simmons made 13 of his 15 attempts from the field
while Brand shot 10-for-15 to go with seven rebounds in a hot-shooting night
for the Clippers. The team as a whole drained 44-of-70 field goals for a
scorching 63 percent clip, helped along by Chris Wilcox’s 15 points.

It was the largest margin of victory on opening night for the Clippers since
1976 when the franchise was known as the Buffalo Braves. The club also broke a
seven-game skid in season openers, while Seattle saw its streak of three wins
on opening night come to a close.

Simmons, who also had six assists and six boards, padded his career-best
output with four points late in the stanza and 10 more in the fourth to ice
the victory.

All five LA starters finished in double figures. Corey Maggette ended the
night with 18 points and six more helpers, while Marco Jaric posted 10 points.

LA’s first-round pick Shaun Livingston made all three of his shots for six
points with five rebounds in his NBA debut.

Los Angeles has a day off before starting a two-game road trip in Portland on
Friday.
