New Orleans Hornets Team Report – November 6

=== New Orleans Hornets Team Report – November 6 ===

(Sports Network) – New Orleans lost on Friday when Steve Francis’ tip-in with
2.7 seconds left on the clock lifted the Orlando Magic to a 90-89 road
victory over Hornets.

The loss spoiled a tremendous performance by the Hornets point guard Baron
Davis, who racked up 36 points and seven assists in defeat. New Orleans (0-2),
which opened its season with a 106-91 home defeat to Dallas on Wednesday, got
13 points from both David Wesley and Jamaal Magloire.

The Hornets trailed 75-64 with 9:45 to play but roared back to take an 89-88
when Wesley drained a straight-on, three-pointer with 18 seconds to play.
Orlando’s Pat Garrity then missed an shot from beyond the arc, but Francis
grabbed the carom and called time out while falling down with nine seconds

The Magic again fed the ball to Garrity, whose three-point attempt was again
off the mark. However, Francis pulled down the rebound and easily stuck back
the miss for the go-ahead points.

New Orleans had a final chance to pull the game out, but Magloire’s short
jumper in the lane was blocked by Stacey Augmon as time expired.

The Hornets visit the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight. Minnesota has won three
straight and six of the last seven meetings in this series.
