(Sports Network) – Amare Stoudemire scored 22 points and pulled down nine
rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 112-80 win over the New Jersey Nets at
Continental Airlines Arena.

Joe Johnson notched 18 points and Steve Nash contributed 17 points and eight
assists for the Suns, who opened the season with three straight victories for
the first time since 1984-85 when they won five in a row. They also snapped a
four-game losing streak at New Jersey.

Shawn Marion registered 13 points for the Suns, who won for just the second
time in their last eight trips to New Jersey. Phoenix held a 18-5 advantage in
fast-break points.

Stoudemire has averaged 24.7 points and nine rebounds in his first three games
of the season, while Nash has registered 12.7 points and 7.3 assists per
contest.

The Suns are off until Tuesday when they visit the Chicago Bulls. Last season,
the teams split a pair of contests.
