(Sports Network) – Stephen Jackson poured in a team-high 24 points and
Jermaine O’Neal added 15 points with 10 rebounds off the bench, as the Indiana
Pacers defeated the Chicago Bulls, 100-90, on Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Ron Artest and Fred Jones each netted 14 points for the Pacers, who opened the
season 3-0 for the first time since 1995-96.
Jones connected on 4-of-7 from beyond-the-arc for Indiana, which sizzled from
three-point land as it hit 11-of-23 (48 percent). Jamaal Tinsley handed out 12
assists in the win.
Indiana center Scot Pollard missed the game with a sore back that he injured
in Friday’s win at Boston. He was replaced by rookie David Harrison, who got
his first career start, scoring four points in 16 minutes.
Jackson, who was acquired from Atlanta in the offseason, has averaged 14
points and seven rebounds in his first three games in an Indiana uniform.
The Pacers are off until Tuesday when they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Last season, the squads split a pair of contests.
