Blazers fine Randolph for missing team flight

Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – The Portland Trail Blazers fined forward Zach
Randolph for missing the team flight to Toronto, where they will meet the
Raptors Sunday afternoon.

Randolph, who also had to pay for his own plane ticket, said he woke up late,
citing an alarm malfunction. He woke up 45 minutes after the team departed
Saturday morning.

The late arrival did not prevent the NBA’s Most Improved Player last season
from starting in Sunday’s matinee. Randolph was awarded a six-year, $84
million contract extension last week.

Randolph was the Blazers’ leading scorer and rebounder last year, averaging a
double-double with 20.1 points and 10.5 rebounds.
