Toronto, ON (Sports Network) – Vince Carter drilled a tiebreaking three-
pointer with 4.8 seconds remaining to lift the Toronto Raptors to a 101-97
victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at Air Canada Centre. Carter finished
with 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting to help the Raptors to their first 3-0
start in franchise history. Donyell Marshall added 16 points and nine
rebounds off the bench while Jalen Rose also had 16 points with eight boards
in the win. Zach Randolph arrived late in Toronto, but it didn’t stop him from
pouring in a game-high 33 points to go along with 15 rebounds in Portland’s
first loss of the season. Randolph was fined and forced to pay his own
way for missing the team flight Saturday because he overslept.

Final Score: Seattle 113, San Antonio 94

Seattle, WA (Sports Network) – Rashard Lewis scored a game-high 27 points to
lead Seattle over San Antonio, 113-94, at KeyArena. Ray Allen added 24 points
for the SuperSonics, who defeated the Spurs for the first time in the last
eight meetings. Danny Fortson had 15 points and 13 rebounds off the bench
in the victory as Seattle shot 51 percent from the field and only turned the
ball over 12 times. On the other hand, San Antonio only shot 43 percent from
the field and turned the ball over 20 times. Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili
each tallied 21 points for the Spurs, who suffered their first loss of the
season (2-1).

Final Score: LA Lakers 106, Atlanta 90

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Kobe Bryant collected 24 points, six
assists and five rebounds, as the Los Angeles Lakers rolled to a 106-90
victory over the Atlanta Hawks at Staples Center. Caron Butler scored 22
points on 10-of-14 shooting and Chris Mihm contributed 19 points and 10
boards for Los Angeles, which halted a two-game skid. Lamar Odom had 11
points and 11 rebounds in the win. Al Harrington paced Atlanta with 22
points. Antoine Walker netted 20 points and Predrag Drobnjak added 13 for
the Hawks, who have yet to win under new head coach Mike Woodson (0-3).
