Nuggets’ Lenard undergoes surgery

Denver, CO (Sports Network) – Denver Nuggets guard Voshon Lenard underwent
successful surgery Monday to repair his torn left Achilles’ tendon. Lenard is
expected to be sidelined for at least six months.

The injury occurred in the third quarter of the Nuggets’ season-opening loss
to the Los Angeles Lakers on November 2 when Lenard slipped on the floor
while running back to play defense. He finished the game with 13 points.

Last season for Denver, Lenard started 70 of the 73 games he played in and
averaged 14.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 assists per contest.

The 31-year-old Lenard has also enjoyed stints with Miami and Toronto during
his 10-year NBA career. In 537 contests, he has posted averages of 12.2
points, 2.9 boards and 2.1 assists per outing.
