rebounds as the Dallas Mavericks overcame an early 17-point deficit for a
101-98 overtime victory against Golden State at American Airlines Center.
Michael Finley added 17 points and seven boards for the unbeaten Mavericks
(4-0), who are off to their best start since they opened the 2002-03
season with 14 straight victories. Josh Howard had 14 points and 13 rebounds
to help Dallas to its 21st win in the last 22 meetings with Golden State.
Jason Richardson hit a three in the waning seconds of regulation to force
overtime for the Warriors (0-4), leading the way with 25 points and 10
rebounds. Derek Fisher scored 23 points with nine assists despite going just
6-for-23 from the field.

six rebounds off the bench for the Jazz, who started the season with four
straight victories for the first time since 2000-01 when they opened with five
consecutive wins. Mehmet Okur contributed 12 points and nine boards off the
bench. Carmelo Anthony, who got in early foul trouble, posted a team-high 17
points and eight rebounds for the Nuggets, who dropped their second straight
game to Utah. Kenyon Martin registered 14 points and Bryon Russell added 13.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Chauncey Billups scored nine of his 20
points in the second overtime, lifting the Detroit Pistons to a hard fought
99-96 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center. Richard
Hamilton also had 20 points on just 9-of-26 shooting for the defending
champion Pistons, who improved to 3-1 on the young season. Rasheed Wallace
chipped in 18 points while Ben Wallace contributed 15 to go with 14 rebounds.
Billups also had nine assists. Corey Maggette netted 25 points and
established a career-best with 19 boards, but his desperation three at the
buzzer in the second overtime went awry. Chris Wilcox added 24 points,
including seven down the stretch in regulation to keep the Clippers close.
