(Sports Network) – The Golden State Warriors fell to 0-4 on the season, as
they were edged in ovetime by the Dallas Mavericks, 101-98, on Monday at
American Airlines Center.

After the Warriors surrendered a big lead, Golden State’s Jason Richardson hit
a three in the waning seconds of regulation to force overtime. Richardsonled
the way with 25 points and 10 rebounds for the Warriors, who have dropped four
straight to begin the season for the first time since the 1999-2000 campaign.
Derek Fisher scored 23 points with nine assists despite going just 6-for-23
from the field.

Dallas scored the first four points of overtime, but Golden State crept within
one on Mike Dunleavy’s three-pointer. A thunderous follow by Josh Howard and a
layup by Jason Terry with just over a minute to go made it 98-93.

Richardson was credited with another bucket thanks to a goaltending call with
two seconds left to get his team within 100-98, and Dirk Nowitzki made only
one free throw at the other end to give Golden State one last chance to tie.
Richardson’s quick three went off the rim, capping a terrible collapse by the

Fisher, who left the Lakers and signed as a free agent with the Warriors in
the offseason, has averaged 13.3 points and 4.5 assists in Golden State’s
first four games of the season.

Golden State is off until Wednesday when it hosts Tim Duncan and the San
Antonio Spurs. Last season the teams split four contests.
