(Sports Network) – Antawn Jamison and Larry Hughes each scored 26 points to
lead the Washington Wizards to a 106-96 victory over the Orlando Magic in a
Southeast Division matchup at the MCI Center.

Jamison finished 10-fo-20 from the floor and added a game-high 11 rebounds for
the Wizards, who snapped a two-game losing streak. Brendan Haywood contributed
13 points on 5-of-7 shooting in his second outing back from a three-game
suspension to open the season.

After back-to-back baskets by rookie Jameer Nelson gave the Magic an 83-82
edge with just under eight minutes remaining, Washington embarked on a 9-2 run
to go ahead for good. Hughes sank a jumper on the ensuing possession to put
the Wizards back on top and Haywood made a short hook shot with 5:09 to play
which made it 86-83.

Hughes has averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists this season,
while Jamison leads Washington with 24.4 points per game.

The Wizards are off until Saturday when the visit LeBron James and the
Cleveland Cavaliers. Last season, the teams split four contests.
