New York, NY (Sports Network) – The one-year deal between Eddie Robinson and
the New York Knicks is off after the free agent forward failed a physical.

Robinson has a bone growth disorder in his toe and will undergo surgery that
will sideline him anywhere from six weeks to three months.

New York had just 11 players on the bench for Friday night’s game against the
Los Angeles Clippers after buying out Shandon Anderson’s contract earlier this

Robinson spent the last three seasons with the Bulls after signing as a free
agent with Chicago on July 18, 2001. During the 2003-04 campaign, he played in
51 games and averaged 6.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per contest.

The Bulls then reached an agreement on a buyout for the remaining two years
of Robinson’s contract and requested waivers on the 6-foot-9 forward earlier
this month.

For his career, which also includes a two-year stint with the Charlotte
Hornets, Robinson has averaged 7.0 points and 2.7 boards over 278 games.
