(Sports Network) – Los Angeles has split its first six contests of the young
campaign, including a 110-96 loss to New York on Friday night.

Corey Maggette had a game-high 29 points for the Clippers, who have alternated
wins and losses in six games this season. Elton Brand added 20 points and nine
rebounds for Los Angeles, which never led and fell to 1-1 on a three-game road
trip.

Leading 82-72 late in the third quarter, the Knicks bridged the final two
quarters with a 10-0 spurt to grab a 20-point lead. Jerome Williams’ basket
early in the fourth capped the run, giving the Knicks a 92-72 cushion. The
Clippers didn’t challenge down the stretch.

Chris Wilcox finished with 21 points and nine rebounds for the Clippers, who
have dropped three straight and 16 of 19 in New York. Bobby Simmons had 10
points for the Clippers, who are 2-2 on the road this season.

The Clippers remain on the road to face Chicago tonight. The Clippers have won
three of the last four meetings in this series over the last two seasons.
However, Chicago has still won 10-of-17 and 20 of the last 28 meetings
overall. The Bulls have beaten Los Angeles in seven of the last eight meetings
at the United Center.
