Los Angeles Clippers Team Report – November 17

=== Los Angeles Clippers Team Report – November 17 ===

(Sports Network) – The battle for Los Angeles takes place tonight, as the
surprising Clippers visit the Lakers at the Staples Center.

These teams will meet three more times this season. The Clippers will be the
host team on December 11 and January 26, 2005, while the Lakers will be the
home team on March 8.

The Clippers, who have won two straight and three of their last four, tried to
lure All-Star Kobe Bryant, who was an unrestricted free agent, away from the
Lakers in the offseason. However, in the end Bryant decided to remain with the
Lakers and sign a lucrative, multi-year deal.

On Tuesday, Marko Jaric led the way with 23 points while Corey Maggette added
22, as the Clippers topped the Toronto Raptors, 101-89, at the Staples Center.
Elton Brand chipped in 19 points for the Clippers, who at 5-3 are off to their
best start since 1995. Chris Wilcox and Bobby Simmons, the other two LA
starters, also finished in double figures with 14 and 10 points.

The Clippers are 3-2 as the visitor this season.

Last season, the Lakers won three of the four contests with the Clippers.
Overall, the Lakers have won 10 of 12, 26 of 29 and 31 of the last 36 contests
in this series. The Clippers have lost six straight as the visitor against the
Lakers.
