Warriors activate Pietrus from IL

Oakland, CA (Sports Network) – The Golden State Warriors activated guard
Mickael Pietrus from the injured list Saturday.

Pietrus, the 11th overall pick by the Warriors in 2003, has been out of action
since dislocating his left shoulder in a July summer league game. He underwent
arthroscopic surgery to repair the injury on July 20.

The 22-year-old guard appeared in games for Golden State last season,
averaging 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds while emerging as one of the team’s best
defenders.

In a related move, the team placed center Andris Biedrins on the injured list
with a strained left hamstring. Biedrins, the youngest player in the NBA, has
seen limited action in three games so far this season.
