Pistons coach Brown to miss the next two games
Auburn Hills, MI (Sports Network) – Detroit Pistons head coach Larry Brown
will miss the next two games, as he continues to recover from recent hip
Brown underwent hip surgery on November 3 and sat out two weeks. He returned
to the bench last Wednesday when Detroit hosted Minnesota. Brown then guided
the Pistons during their fight-marred contest versus Indiana on Friday and
was also the coach for Sunday’s game against Charlotte.
Doctors told Brown that traveling to the next two games — Tuesday at
Charlotte and Wednesday at Cleveland — could put him at risk for
complications such as blood clots. He is expected to be back for Friday’s
home contest versus Miami.
Assistant coach Gar Heard will again guide Detroit in Brown’s absence. Heard
went 2-3 after filling in for the Hall of Fame coach earlier this month.
