(Sports Network) – The Miami Heat will attempt to get back on the winning
track tonight, when they begin a two-game road trip in Atlanta against the
Hawks at Philips Arena.
Miami saw a three-game win streak come to an end on Tuesday night, as it fell
99-87 to the Portland Trail Blazers at American Airlines Arena. Dwyane Wade
had 19 points and nine assists for the Heat.
Shaquille O’Neal added 17 points and 13 boards while Shandon Anderson also
netted 17 points in the loss. Eddie Jones added 12 points in the losing effort
for Miami. It marked Jones’ 700th career game.
The Heat fell to just 1-4 against the Western Conference, as they shot 42
percent from the field. Miami was outrebounded, 41-36, in the contest.
Miami owns a 3-2 road mark this season. The Heat have been terrific against
the East this year, winning all seven contests.
The Heat have won three straight, six of seven and seven of the last nine
meetings in this series. Atlanta has lost five straight and 14 of its last 15
trips to Miami.
