(Sports Network) – The New Jersey Nets dropped a 90-88 decision to the Denver
Nuggets at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night.

Richard Jefferson compiled 26 points and 11 boards for the Nets, who suffered
their sixth straight defeat despite an outstanding effort from their bench.
Rodney Buford had 13 points and Travis Best added 11 along with seven assists
to lead the New Jersey reserves, who outscored Denver’s bench 42-22.

New Jersey couldn’t control a former teammate, as Kenyon Martin tallied 22
points and 12 rebounds on 10-of-19 shooting. Martin, who spent the first four
years of his career with the Nets before being traded to Denver in the
offseason, had six assists and shot 10-of-19 from the floor.

Earl Boykins, who ended with 12 points, sealed the win with a running one-
hander off the glass with 20 seconds left. The Nets missed a chance to tie
when Eric Williams’ three-point attempts with six seconds rimmed out.

The Nets fell to 6-26 lifetime in Denver.

New Jersey continues its four-game road trip against the Los Angeles Clippers
at the Staples Center on Thanksgiving.
