Indianapolis, IN (Sports Network) – Jamaal Tinsley had a tremendous all-around game with 20 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds and five steals to lead the undermanned Indiana Pacers over the Minnesota Timberwolves, 106-102, at Conseco Fieldhouse. Austin Croshere collected 25 points and 11 rebounds as the Pacers improved to 2-1 since losing Ron Artest, Jermaine O’Neal and Stephen Jackson to suspensions. Fred Jones made some key baskets down the stretch, scoring seven of his 17 points in the fourth quarter. Kevin Garnett had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the way for the Timberwolves, who were also short a man with the early morning arrest and subsequent team suspension of center Michael Olowokandi. Olowokandi spent Wednesday night in jail after police needed a stun gun to get him to leave a nightclub in Indianapolis. Troy Hudson scored 19 in Minnesota’s second consecutive loss of the year and sixth in seven tries versus Indiana. Wally Szczerbiak and Latrell Sprewell chipped in 18 and 16 points, respectively.

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) – Marko Jaric shot 4-of-5 from three-point range and finished with 21 points and six assists as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated slumping New Jersey, 101-88, at the Staples Center. Elton Brand added 17 points and seven rebounds, while Corey Maggette chipped in 16 points, as the Clippers put an end to a three-game losing streak by shooting 53 percent from the floor. Richard Jefferson had 24 points and six rebounds for the Nets, who have now lost seven straight. Travis Best poured in 16 points off the bench in the loss. New Jersey’s seven-game slide is the club’s longest since they dropped seven in a row from January 23-February 2, 2001.
