(Sports Network) – The reeling New Jersey Nets were handed their eighth
consecutive loss on Friday night, as they were pounded, 92-79, by the Seattle

Danny Fortson scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead
the Sonics to the win at KeyArena. New Jersey has dropped 14 of its last 16 in
the Emerald City.

Richard Jefferson tallied 21 points and seven boards for the Nets, who never
led in the game.

The Sonics got off to a quick start, leading 21-8 after the opening quarter,
and they cruised to the victory. The eight points tied a Nets’ franchise
record for least amount of points in the first quarter.

The Nets will complete a four-game road trip on Sunday night in Portland. One
of New Jersey’s two victories this season came against the Trail Blazers on
November 9.
