(Sports Network) – The Minnesota Timberwolves halted a two-game losing streak
with Friday evening’s blowout victory over the reeling Memphis Grizzlies.

Kevin Garnett shot 11-of-15 for 26 points to go with 15 rebounds as the
T’wolves trounced Memphis, 115-90, at the Target Center. The Grizzlies were
playing just one day after learning that head coach Hubie Brown retired due to
health reasons.

Latrell Sprewell registered 22 points and six assists to help Minnesota avoid
its first three-game skid since March 2003.

Eddie Griffin added 15 points and Sam Cassell had 11 points while dishing out
eight helpers. The Timberwolves, who established a season-high with the 115
points, have now taken 13 of the last 14 meetings with the Grizzlies.

Minnesota played without center Michael Olowokandi for the second straight
game. Olowokandi was jailed early Thursday morning for an nightclub incident
and was suspended a second game for ‘conduct detrimental to the team.’ He is
expected back Sunday for the game in Sacramento.

The T’Wolves will take to the road for Sunday’s game in Sacramento. Minnesota
won three of four matchups with the Kings last season.
